Album Art Exercise

Today we learnt how to edit a album cover on Photoshop, in preparation for our real digipack. We auto generated a band and album name, to come up with the title. As the picture I was given was quit crowded and detailed I didn't need to do much to the photo in Photoshop. Thus, I only enhanced the contrast and vibrancy to make it more attractive and bright. I added the artists name and the album name in this particular font. The reason for my font choice was because I think that it suits the album concept best. Along with this I chose these colours to suit the background image.

Copyright

To get permission to use the song we chose we asked the artist of the song for consent. We did this through twitter as it was the easiest way to get in contact with her.

Location Info:

Leicester Square - Here we are going to M&M World, as a way to showcase some of London's exciting tourist areas. We will be showing ourselves enjoying the attraction as a part of our music video. We wanted to go here because we thought we could get some shots of us amongst a scenery which is colourful and attractive, which reflects our colourful and bright song.

Picadilly Circus - We wanted shoot a wide shot of this place as it is an appealing and interesting part of London. We also wanted to go to as many of London's iconic tourist attractions as possible, and this was one of them.

China Town - We wanted to go here as it showcased different cultures in our music video. We liked this area as it was a well decorated and aesthetically pleasing which we wanted to feature in our music video.

Covent Garden - We wanted to go to a restaurant in Covent Garden, which was Five Guys. This gave us the element of a day in the life of friends on a day out in London. We also wanted a variety of locations and tried to fit in as many as possible .

Health and Safety Issues to note:

  • Be careful around the trains
  • Don't run on the escalators
  • Keep together as someone may get lost
Potential Filming Problems :
  • We could, by mistake delete some of our footage
  • A member of our team could not show up
  • Our camera could stop working/lose battery
  • A piece of equipment could break
  • There could be too many interruptions during filming

Lyrics

We chose this song as the lyrics empathise with the concept of friends and travelling. We tried to fit our music video with the lyrics so they's make sense together. The lyrics highlighted are the ones that really stand out and go along well with what our music video is about.

Lyrics

Nothing's ever what we expect
But they keep asking where we're going next
All we're chasing is the sunset
Got my mind on you

Doesn't matter where we are are are are
Doesn't matter where we are are are ar-are
Doesn't matter no
If there's a moment when it's perfect
We'll carve our names

As the sun goes down
Hey
As the sun goes down
Hey
As the sun goes down

As the sun goes down
Doesn't matter where we are are are are
Doesn't matter where we are are are ar-are
Doesn't matter now

You are so lonely now [x2]

Nothing's ever what we expect
But they keep asking where we're going next
All we're chasing is the sunset
Got my mind on you

Doesn't matter where we are are are are
Doesn't matter where we are are are ar-are
Doesn't matter no
If there's a moment when it's perfect
We'll carve our names

As the sun goes down
Hey
As the sun goes down
Hey

You are so lonely now [x2]

As the sun goes down.
